Why human shampoo is a no
Dogs have a different skin pH than we do. Human products (even baby shampoo) can disrupt that balance and lead to dryness and irritation. Always reach for a formula made for dogs.
Match the shampoo to the dog
- Itchy or sensitive skin — oatmeal or aloe-based, fragrance-light formulas.
- Allergies — hypoallergenic and soap-free.
- Strong odour — a gentle deodorizing wash (avoid heavy perfumes).
- White or light coats — brightening shampoos, used sparingly.
- Puppies — tear-free, extra-mild puppy formulas.
