Nail Trims Without the Drama

Nail Trims Without the Drama

Nail trims are one of the most dreaded parts of grooming for many dogs—and many owners. But overgrown nails can change a dog's posture, cause discomfort, and even lead to joint strain over time, so they're worth staying on top of.

How often?

If you can hear nails clicking on the floor, they're due. For most dogs that means every 3 to 4 weeks. Dogs who walk a lot on pavement may naturally wear them down a little more.

Keeping it calm

  • Handle your dog's paws often when you're not trimming, so touch feels normal.
  • Trim a little and often rather than a lot at once.
  • Pair every trim with treats and praise.
  • If your dog has dark nails and you're unsure where to cut, take only the tips—or leave it to us.

If nails have become a real flashpoint at home, bring your pup in. We use patient, low-stress handling and can keep things ticking over so trims never become a big deal.
